Today we had math all day, so instead of just doing math for the sake of doing math, we did math so that our cookies would taste good. At the beginning of the day each student was given a recipe for chocolate chip cookies, the catch being that each of the ingredient quantities was replaced with an algebraic equation. In order to make the cookies, we had to solve the equations to determine how much of each ingredient we needed, what temperature to bake at and for how long. To see the recipe we used click here.
Overall, the cookie math went well, everyones' cookies tasted great with the exception of a very salty cookie, and the cleanup went off without a hitch. To see pictures of the day, scroll down.
