Dec. 12/08 Per. D 9 Math

Today we continued on with our discussion of factoring polynomials, but to start we did a little mental math. Mostly operations of integers, but mental none the less. While the we did our mental math, I handed out course updates. This most recent update includes our previous test as well as the most recent mental math.

 Following that we started to look at exactly what a factor is, and how they are found. We used some virtual manipulatives to help us visualize what a factor is. If you would like to practice on your own, clicking here will take you to the site we used in class.

We moved from simple monomial factoring to some slight more complex polynomial factoring. Our notes and examples are not finished, but to see what we have done so far, click here.

Our homework for Monday is to finish factoring sheet 6-3 that was handed out in class today.
