April 30/09 Per. B and D combined post

We spent today's class trying to prove the Pythagorean Theorem, that is, the square of the hypotenuse of a right angle triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. The notes we used to introduce the topic can be found here.

The results from today's proof can be seen below. there are several pictures preproof and several after the proof is completed. Tomorrow we'll discuss how this can be used and eventually add more tools to our toolbox.
