Nov. 26/08 Per. C 10 Math

We spent the first few minutes of class today talking about our all-period days as well as the meteor that came down over Edmonton. If you didn't see it, watch the clip below.

Following that we moved on to probability. Our goal today was to see if the chances of rolling any particular number on a six-sided die is actually 1 in 6. To find this out, each student rolled a die 100 times, keeping track of their results. They then calculated what percent of the time each number arose out of their 100 rolls. While this was happening, I collected everyone's results and used a spreadsheet to display our classes results. What we found can be seen below.
Each individual person may have recorded results that favoured any of the six possibilities on a die, but as we collected everyone's results, things started to even out.
Check back tomorrow to see what the conclusion of this activity will be.
For homework I asked everyone to finish up to and including question C.
