We got started a little late today as a few of us were finishing up a science test from the period before math. Once that was done we started to look at the practical applications of trigonometry, mainly using clinometers and meters sticks to calculate the height of different objects. The 4 objects we are working on are the gym, the flag pole, the football uprights, and the a street lamp.
For tomorrow I asked everyone to have calculated the heights of the 4 different objects including a good copy of your chart and a diagram for each problem. We'll discuss our findings tomorrow.
Notes with an example from today's class can be found here.
